Nice-looking Sony's VAIO FW Series Laptops
Nice-looking Sony's VAIO FW series laptops use the same Intel Centrino 2 CPUs. This laptop has a 16.4" LCD in the 16:10 widescreen dimension and is evidently built for entertainment, and more particularly watching movies. The device comes with 4GB of DDR2 RAM, a Blu-Ray player, integrated Intel graphics, 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo (P8400) CPU and lots of ugly stickers, with 1600*900screen resolution. The keyboard and trackpad combination were quite standard for VAIO, with a set of multimedia buttons. The FW series is actually available with a dedicated GPU from ATI. You will also find the integrated X4500 Intel chip. The Vista Experience Index scores were all high except for the graphics that pulled the score down to a mere 3.8 (the maximum in Vista is 5.9 for some reason known only to Microsoft). Running Futuremark's PCMark Vantage gave us a score of 3235. With 3 hours battery life we could watch an entire 101 minute Blu-Ray movie on one charge. Finally, the Sony VAIO FW is the best variant for any movie buff for quite reasonable price. For gaming capability you can take one of the FWs with dedicated graphics.
